If we don’t feel you are capable we reserve the right to deny rental to any persons. We then turn the boat over to you and let you bring it back to our location. We thoroughly explain the use of channel markers and how the different colors of the water can indicate depths so that you can better recognize and avoid shallow areas. When renting a boat we explain a map of the area and how to navigate the channel markers and go through the boats with you. Can I safely operate a pontoon boat?Ī: Safety is always our 1st priority. As a safety precaution we ask customers to bring a cellular phone along on their boat rental. We can hold your car keys if you like since it’s not uncommon to lose them to the surf or sand. Just be sure to save room on the boat for the people! You will not need money on Shell Island, so we recommend locking your valuables in your car. Some people bring beach chairs, floats, fishing rods, bait and more. The usual beach equipment (towels, sunscreen, hats) is a great idea as well. There are no concessions on Shell Island, and the sand, sun and water tend to make everyone extra hungry and thirsty. Q: What should I bring for a boat rental?Ī: For boat rentals a cooler with snacks and drinks is a must but please keep in mind that glass is not allowed onboard our rental boats at any time. Please contact us by phone with any questions prior to your rental. Weather conditions vary dramatically throughout the area so please be aware that while it is storming where you are it may be clear at our location. However, if the weather is deemed unsafe by our staff for any reason at the time of your rental boats will not be allowed out on the water and you be given the option to reschedule or receive a refund. Reservations will be honored rain or shine. Q: What if the weather is bad on the day of my rental? dive tanks are allowed on our rental boats at any time. Pets are not allowed on our rental boats at any time.Ī: NO. Yes! We take boating safety very seriously and life jackets are always provided for each person in your party and for all ages and sizes.Ī: No. Absolutely no heavy fishing tackle is allowed on our pontoon boats at any time. Please note that only light fishing tackle fishing is allowed on our pontoon boats. If you have more than the maximum number of guests in your party please rent an additional boat.Ī: Very small light tackle fishing is allowed but you will need a license which you can obtain by visiting. Parties with more than the maximum number of guests will not be allowed on a single boat. Our premium pontoon boats can fit a maximum of 10 guests including all children. ![]() ![]() Q: How many people can fit in a pontoon boat?Ī: Our regular pontoon boats can fit a maximum of 10 guests including all children. If you were born after January 1st, 1988 you will need to check in 1 hour early to obtain a boater’s safety card for a $3.00 fee. You must be age 18 or older with a valid US driver’s license in order to rent and operate a boat. Q: Are there any age restrictions to rent a boat? Do I need a license?Ī: Yes. Sometimes our cruises fill up quickly, so it is best to reserve at least one week in advance.Ī: We ask that you arrive a half an hour before your scheduled tour or rental departure time unless you need to obtain a boater’s safety card then 45 min is best(please refer to the FAQ section for the activity you have booked below). Phone reservations must be made at least 2 hours prior to departure. We will call you or email if we need to cancel for weather.Ī: Online bookings may close from 12-48 hours prior to departure, but with availability last minute reservations can be made over the phone and paid for at check-in time. Usually the weather here at Shell Island is nice so just call if you have any doubt. In the event that we have to cancel a tour due to severe weather, you will have the opportunity to reschedule your trip or receive a refund. Q: Is there parking available at your location?Ī: Yes! There should be plenty of spaces available in front of our ticket booth, but if not anywhere here at Treasure Island Marina (3605 Thomas drive) is fine it’s all free.Ī: Most of our tours and rentals will go out if there is light rain or other moderate weather conditions.

![]() ![]() The words we use inform the ideas in play, and those ideas give form to what is produced. Every new project comes with a new set of questions, a new set of constraints, that require new skills, and new approaches for creative problem solving. It gives structure to what we know and how we know it. In this way, scaffolding is a form of learning. We can further extend our definition of scaffolding to include the skills and knowledge necessary for operating the tools that advance the project, as well as to the critical engagement that is fundamental to the creative process in general. The design of a jig can sometimes be as interesting as the design of the piece itself. When designing an effective jig, consideration must be given to the path through which the bit or blade will pass, and how the piece is fixed, but it must also do so in a safe manner. Like the scaffolding that Vasari describes, which was designed to bring the body of the artist into close physical proximity with the work, a jig allows the craftsperson to adapt his/her tools to act on a given material in a precise, repeatable fashion. Woodworkers, for example and by comparison, will often design jigs to position a part in relation to a tool in order to augment the function of that tool. ![]() Scaffolding can take many different forms, but in the narrowest sense, it is a tool. But scaffolding of this kind not only gives structure to the process it demands a consideration of the tools, knowledge, and resources that are necessary for crafting novel and uncommon things. Often, the most difficult part of any creative process is just getting started preparing for the tasks at hand by putting the necessary structures in place that will bring the project to fruition. And so Michelangelo ordered scaffolding built on poles which did not touch the wall, the method for fitting out vaults he later taught to Bramante and others, and with which many fine works were executed. Michelangelo then realized that either Bramante knew little about it or he was not much of a friend, and he went to the pope and told him that this scaffolding was unsatisfactory and that Bramante had not understood how to build it in Bramante’s presence, the pope replied that he should build one in his own way. The pope ordered Bramante to build the scaffolding in order to paint it Bramante did so by piercing the ceiling and hanging everything from ropes upon seeing this, Michelangelo asked Bramante how, once the painting had been completed, he would be able to fill the holes and Bramante replied, ‘We’ll worry about that later’, and added that there was no other way to do it. Vasari tells us, that in preparing to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, a debate arose between Bramante and Michelangelo about how to design the scaffolding necessary to proceed with the project: By Ian Gonsher ( republished with permission) ![]() That was not the case with our tour in Paris! We got to try amazing croissants, crepes, chocolates and sweets, meats and cheeses, soups, and other savory dishes. On some of our previous food tours, we ended a little hungry as often times it's a few stops with a few small bites at each. Getting to go to so many different places we had a huge variety of food. We had so much fun with her and can't say enough good things about our experience with her. It felt like we were meeting up with an old friend who was showing us around her town and sharing with us all her favorite places. Through the entire tour Jess was amazing. After our tour Jess provided an awesome list of recommendations and all of those that we visited turned out to be very good. Not only did we get to experience great food and wine (which I'll get to) but along the way Jess helped us to learn more of our basic French, and help us to better understand the city, its people, and it's history. We met Jess at 10am and went to 8 different places through La Maris over the next several hours. Compared to those, our experience in Paris was by far one of the best. We have been on several food and other walking/city/wine tours through the years in many different places. They were awesome so I'd definitely suggest doing the tour earlier in your trip so you can take full advantage of the list she gives you! When the tour ended, we were having so much fun we literally wanted Jess to hang out with us for the rest of the day! After the tour, Jess also gave us a huge list of suggestions of other bars and restaurants to visit. Jess also catered the tour towards all of us, asking what interested us so she could give us more information. I learned so much about the traditional processes of making bread and cheese and wine in France, and the ways things changed as a result of different historical periods. She was able to speak about both the history of Paris and the history of food in France in an extremely compelling way. She is so passionate, knowledgable, and friendly, and immediately made the whole group feel comfortable. Part of the reason why we loved the tour so much, was because of Jess. ![]() Devour also does not skimp on the tastings!! We left the tour feeling so full and satisfied- definitely enough food for both breakfast and lunch. All of the stops were populated by locals, and taught us about Paris and its food culture and history. There was a chocolate shop that my friend and I loved so much (it was seriously the best chocolate we have ever had) that we went back immediately after the tour to buy more for ourselves and our families. Jess brought us to amazing places that we never would have stumbled upon on our own even though we were staying in Le Marais. The tour was perfectly staggered and was a lovely mix of both savory and sweet snacks. Our tour guide, Jess, carefully curated the tour so as to bring us to a variety of authentic Parisian shops and restaurants in the Le Marais district. I cannot say enough good things about this tour! It was truly one of the highlights of our time in Paris. Note: real-time rendering performance can be affected by the project size, and therefore the following table provides the minimum GPU specifications that we recommend where large CAD projects are regularly being worked on. It is also recommended that your internet connection is fast and stable and that you should use a direct cable connection and avoid using a Wi-fi connection where possible, as this can slow down the Asset Library loading times. The system requirements to run Enscape, as well as the Standalone Executable files that can be exported from Enscape, are identical. It is worth noting that a good CPU can aid in speeding up Enscape’s loading times. If your system CPU and RAM are capable of handling Revit, for instance, and you have a capable GPU, Enscape should work. To avoid incompatibilities, please uninstall them before using Enscape.Įnscape performs its renders using your graphics card (GPU), but the GPU has to have dedicated VRAM, and not shared VRAM as found with Intel Integrated Graphics chips. Note: There are conflicts with two other Revit plugins: Colorizer and Techviz. This means you do not require a dedicated installer specific to each individual CAD, and you can specify which CAD or CAD’s you want to install Enscape for during the installation procedure. The Enscape plugin will be installed for all of the above CAD’s unless otherwise specified during the installation process. ![]() Additionally, Revit LT is not supported at all by Enscape as Revit LT itself does not provide a way for any plug-ins to work with it. ![]() *Revit 2018 does not support the Enscape Material Library or Enscape Material Editor. The Enscape 3.3 plug-in is provided for the following CAD versions: For this reason, your computer should at least meet the minimum recommended system requirements set out below.įurthermore, although not a requirement, we do recommend that you use Enscape with dual monitors, as Enscape is optimized to work on a dual monitor setup. Enscape uses ray tracing for its real-time rendering, and almost all the calculations that Enscape performs are being handled on the graphics card (GPU). ![]() ![]() Tag comments by formatting the spoiler as follows: (/s "SOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE").
